My working life had been science based so turning to art when I retired was a dramatic change. Joining Retford Art Society was the catalyst that helped me make my first steps into creative art. The members were all helpful and informative as I struggled with various mediums. Most of my work is now in oils as this is the most forgiving medium in which to work where changes can be made with ease; however, I do enjoy developing my drawing skills.  

The social aspect of creating art is a bonus and I recommend anyone interested in art to join a group as supportive as Retford Art Society.
