Spring Exhibition 2016

St. Swithun's Church, Retford

The exhibition was held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Thursday 28th April 2016 to Saturday 14th May 2016 by kind permission of Canon Tony Walker.

The preview evening was held on Wednesday 27th April 2016 and Chair of the Society, Margaret Presley, introduced Alastair Murray, Chair of Governors of Thrumpton School, to open the procedings. The exhibition attracted a record number of entries with 131 pictures being displayed and Margaret Presley, Chair of the Society, praised the efforts of the numerous members who had taken a part in mounting the exhibition. Work by students from Thrumpton School was also on display with Alastair suggesting that these young artists show the potential to continue the strong tradition of art in Retford.
