Joan Vickers

I have always been drawn towards the arts, but it was not until my children had left home that I was able to fulfil my dream of becoming a florist. So it was on retirement, a natural progression to take up Painting and drawing, I was first tutored by John Farquharson a Norfolk artist, and then on moving to Retford attended NOCN (National open College Network courses) I also joined Retford Art Society and met lots of artists who have inspired me. 

I started with watercolour, which is a very expressive medium, but now I like to incorporate lots of diff medium to explore the subject matter. and as you can see,  my love of flowers and the natural world comes through in my art work.
