Autumn Exhibition 2016

St. Swithun's Church, Retford

The exhibition was held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Thursday 12th October 2016 to Saturday 29th October 2016 by kind permission of Canon Tony Walker.

Wednesday evening, 12th October, saw the Mayor of Retford, Cllr Garry Clarkson and his partner, Cherry Dunk, open Retford Art Society’s Autumn Exhibition at St. Swithun’s Church. He was surprised and delighted with what he saw and was the first to snap up a picture of The Square, drawn in pastels by Mick Thomas. Margaret Presley, the Society’s Chairperson, introduced the Mayor and he spoke in glowing terms of the exhibition. The different variety and styles of pictures mirrored the vibrant society and range of activities he found in Retford. He said that he was going to take a more leisurely view of the pictures at another time and encouraged others to do the same.
