I find my inspiration from the local environment, sometimes taking photographs of the urban landscape. I try to convey the atmosphere and character of a place, rather than striving for an acurate representation.Sheffield city centre has been one source of inspiration ie., 'Events at Pond's Forge' and 'Bridge to the City Centre'. The painting of 'West Retford' is a view from overgrown land near the main roundabout.
Over the past few months I have concentrated more on pottery, constructing some large slab vases and fruit bowls.
