Primary Care Trust Commission News

The Retford Primary Care Trust has offered members the chance to submit examples of their work (photographs will suffice) so that they can select a local artist to produce an artwork for the new building. Members should take their work to Room 5 in the PCT building by Friday March 5th. The selection will take place on that day and the successful artist will be informed. For more details please contact Margaret Presley (01777 707569).

March Meeting - An Evening With Graham Laughton

The monthly meeting for March is set to be a good one as we welcome local landscape artist Graham Laughton to the Post 16 Centre. Graham has a studio in Laxton where he paints in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylic, gouache and pastels. He will be demonstrating how to achieve a landscape painting in an impressionist style using oils. The demonstration will take place on Thursday 25th March at 7:30pm.

The evening is £3 for members and £5 for visitors (£2 for students) with tea and coffeee available as usual.

February Meeting - Tas Severis Was a Bit Hit

The monthly meeting for February was a bit hit as Tas created a wonderfully colourful landscape pastel picture having made up fifteen minutes due to a late start! Tas has very kindly donated a fabulous print of one of his iconic landscape pictures which will be a raffle prize later in the year. Please look out for it and get your tickets early!!

New Studio Looking Good

The Retford Art Society have now moved to our new Swan Studio in carolgate. For those of you who have not yet had a chance to visit the studio you are missing a treat as it offers a super venue to practice and meet friends old and new. The decoration of the studio is coming along very well and it is beginning to look and feel like home.
